I decided against posting a CNN link on this article. This subject seems to be completely misguided and twisted in a way that it was not meant to be interpreted. Here is some clarity:
“This isn’t about whether Ann Romney or I work. Other women of some means can afford to make a choice to stay at home and raise kids,” said Rosen on CNN. “Most women in America, let’s face it, don’t have that choice. They have to be working moms and home moms and that’s the piece that I am not hearing from the Romney camp. Instead everybody’s attacking me, that’s fine. Attack me. But it does not erase his woeful record on this issue.”
That’s the heart of it and it’s true. How can Mrs. Romney speak on the working class of women who have to work AND raise kids when she has no idea what it’s like to have to balance both? I absolutely believe that raising children is extremely difficult, but it’s even more difficult when you have to work and raise kids.
Rosen wasn’t questioning her past work - as in raising kids. Rosen was questioning Romney’s past work - as in how many 40 hour weeks did she have in an office. Romney is absolutely qualified to speak on behalf of mothers and homemakers. That was her career. Romney is NOT qualified to speak on behalf of female workers.
Should Mitt be taking economic advice from his wife in trying to solve problems for the female white collared working class? To me, that’s negligence and highly irresponsible.
I don’t ask a professional soccer player for tennis advice if he’s never played or touched a tennis racket. I don’t ask an engineer how to do my taxes if he’s never seen or understands the tax laws. I don’t ask a lawyer for specific medical advice if that lawyer has no medical background. And I don’t ask a baker to fix my computer if he’s never used or owned one before.
Rosen’s idea wasn’t wrong, her wording was poor. However with her clarification, I really hope people see that her message wasn’t personal, it was very professional. If Mitt Romney does make it to become president, and he takes it upon himself to take women and economics advice from his wife, well, good game - I hope this is what you were all looking for.

//Edit:: Thanks “Anonymous” for pointing out my grammatical error. I used “advise” when “advice” was the correct word to use. note to readers, I appreciate the help, and don’t take grammar advice from me :)
